Drivers this morning face wet roads with very little ice, except for some bridges and overpasses.
The worst problems left by Tuesday’s snowstorm are out east, where the Colorado State Patrol closed Interstate-76 east of Brush because of numerous accidents. Troopers estimate the road will be closed until mid-morning.
Interstate 70 east of Limon is particularly treacherous this morning, with numerous semi-trucks slipping off the roadway. The road is not closed.
Interstate-70 in the foothills, particularly around the Evergreen and Genesee exits, is slick in areas, with the threat of fog moving in. Traffic has been moving slowly but steadily.
Chain laws remain in effect on I-70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel approaches and on Vail Pass.
Within the metro-Denver area, traffic got off to a good start, averaging 45 to 50 miles per hour on Interstate-25.
Forecasters say the snow is pretty much over for this storm, with a few flakes falling in the high foothills.
Skies are expected to clear later this afternoon, with temperatures reaching the upper 30s.
