Time|Trade members of the Coin Laundry Association suggest that instead of losing precious leisure
time fluffing and folding, simply drop off a load or two of dirty laundry at the local laundry before work, then pick up your clean clothes on the way home. Drop-off service costs about 90 cents per pound, or $10 per load, according to the CLA. The organization also offers these drop-off laundry tips:
Talk to the store. Ask whether your garments need special care.
Ask about detergents. Top-notch wash-dry-fold services use high-quality products, and keep knowledgeable people on staff to discuss them.
Check out the pickup/drop-off. Many shops will do this for an additional fee, and some will even do it fo free.
Talk about stains. Be sure to point out any spots you would like removed.
Energy|You can’t beat a small investment that results in a large payoff. That’s why high-density foam weather-strip tape is worth any homeowner’s attention. This easy-to-install adhesive tape costs between $2 and $7 a package, sticks to door and window frames, and can save up to 20 percent on heating and cooling costs because of its effective, added insulation, according to Lowe’s. Just stick and save? That’s a project even the least handy can master.
