Sen. Barack Obama, an Illinois Democrat and potential presidential contender, will campaign for 7th Congressional District candidate Ed Perlmutter on Tuesday.

Obama will first attend a signing of his book “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream” at noon Tuesday.

The book signing will be at the Tattered Cover Book Store, 1628 16th St. in Lower Downtown.

Free tickets for the book signing will be handed out at 11 a.m., with one ticket per person in line.

From 3 to 4 p.m., Obama will hold a campaign rally with Perlmutter at the Aurora Fox Theatre, 9900 E. Colfax Ave.

Before the rally, Obama will host a private fundraiser for the Perlmutter campaign.

Obama also will stump for Amendment 42, which would raise Colorado’s minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.85 an hour beginning in January and adjust the new minimum wage annually to match inflation.
