In its last regular-season game before the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament, the Metro State men’s soccer team cruised to a 6-0 victory over Colorado Christian at Auraria Field on Sunday.

Antonio Porras scored two goals and added an assist to lead Metro State (13-5-1, 9-3-0 RMAC), which finished second in the RMAC. Colorado Christian finished the season 0-16-2, 0-12-0.

Fort Lewis, which will host the RMAC tournament beginning Friday, earned a 6-2 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo in its season finale.

John Cunliffe led the Skyhawks (16-1-0, 12-0-0) with three goals and two assists. Fort Lewis last week locked up the regular-season RMAC title.

CU women blank Baylor in home finale

The University of Colorado women’s soccer team got a goal from Nikki Marshall in the 16th minute, then held off Baylor for a 1-0 victory at Prentup Field in the Buffaloes’ home finale.

Marshall, who set the CU freshman scoring record Friday against Texas Tech, added to that record with her 12th goal of the season.

Colorado (10-5-2, 4-4-1 Big 12) is in fifth place in the Big 12; Baylor (6-9-1, 3-5-0) is eighth.

Air Force goalkeeper Erin Wallace made five saves to preserve a 0-0 tie with Texas Christian in a Mountain West Conference game at Cadet Soccer Stadium.

Air Force (3-11-4, 0-4-2 MWC) sent eight shots on goal, all kept from scoring by TCU (5-8-4, 0-3-3) goalkeeper Katy Buchanan.

New Mexico Highlands got the game-winning goal from Veronica Padilla 45 seconds into the game in a 3-0 victory over visiting Colorado Mines.

It was the regular-season finale for both teams. Highlands (4-12-1, 2-9-1 RMAC) finished eighth in the nine-team league. Mines (5-9-4, 2-7-3) was seventh.

Metro State (19-1-0, 12-0-0 RMAC) finished its league-championship regular season with a 2-1 victory over visiting Fort Lewis (12-7-0, 8-4-0).

The RMAC women’s tournament begins Thursday at Metro State’s Auraria Field.
