Troy, Mich. – Color specialists at PPG Industries Inc. have reached the same conclusion they’ve held for six years running: Silver is the undisputed top pick for American cars and is likely to stay there.
When automakers start rolling out 2009 and 2010 models, the most popular color will remain some shade, tint or hue of silver. Brown, green, blue and gold will also take more space on designers’ palettes.
The supplier has started sharing its new colors with auto designers and officially released its color palette of 110 concept colors for future models Thursday.
