Why are you running? Narrow special interests have completely taken over government and politics in this country. We need real, genuine change and reform. I am running to put Principle Before Politics. By refusing to take any special interest contributions, I will be free to put the people’s best interests first.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent?
1) Restoring integrity and honesty to government, from local to federal level, will be the greatest value I can help bring to Colorado and the nation.
2) Energy and the environment are important to Colorado.
3) Residents of the 7th district, like all citizens in Colorado and the nation need health care reform – I favor a national single-payer health insurance plan.
What steps, if any do you think the federal government needs to take to address the problem of illegal immigration?
I believe that uncontrolled illegal immigration drives down wages and benefits for working Americans. Therefore, I support sanctions against employers who hire undocumented workers. I support increased border security. I do not favor amnesty or guest worker programs. I favor only regulated, legal immigration when the demand for new labor or skills requires it.
Do you support continued involvement of American troops in Iraq?
I favor a quick withdrawal from Iraq. Our continued military presence has become a cause of the violence and conflict. While the United States must be engaged in a peace process, it is time to close our bases and remove our troops from the killing fields of Iraq.
