FORT MORGAN – A 55-year-old resident was being held on $80,000 bail in connection with a shooting death over the weekend – the city’s first homicide investigation in more than a year, police said Tuesday.

Marion M. Duckworth is being held at the Morgan County Detention Center for investigation of second-degree murder, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by an intoxicated person, police said. On Saturday, police found Weston James King, 32, dead at a home in the 400 block of Euclid Street from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The last homicide investigation in Fort Morgan was on Oct. 16, 2005, police said.
