Why are you running? I’m running because the issues (education / healthcare / energy) and because it is time we commit ourselves to their solutions, not just carrying them over from one election year to the next.
What are the top three challenges facing Colorado? Revitalizing our commitment to a globally competitive quality public education system.
Fixing our broken health care system. I favor a statewide fixed cost insurance pool.
Balancing our energy policies between our need for energy, industries’ right to earn a profit, and communities’ right to maintain a quality standard of life.
What is the top priority in the next session if you should win? All three above challenges, education, healthcare and energy, are equally important.
What proposal in the last session did you oppose the most? First thing that comes to mind are the proposals which will be voted on as Amendment 39, which I view as simply another attempt to undermine and discredit our public school systems.
What proposal in the last session did you agree with most? The first thing here that comes to mind are increasing restrictions on professional lobbyists as begun with House Bill 1149 and will continue with Amendment 41.
