Why are you running? The Board of Regents needs strong independent leadership. I am passionate about CU and can be that leader.

What are the top three challenges facing Colorado or the institution you seek to represent?

1) The University of Colorado ranks near the bottom for state funds received by a public university.

2) There is a perception that the University of Colorado is not a comfortable, welcoming environment for people of diverse backgrounds and certain minority populations are not well represented on campus.

3) The university’s relationship with the state is more combative that collaborative.

What would you do to improve diversity at CU campuses by drawing in underrepresented students? CU should expand the pre-collegiate program to reach more underrepresented students and partner with other universities and the public schools to address issues in K-12.

University of Colorado President Hank Brown has given the university a C-plus for openness and accountability to the public. What would you do to improve CU’s image and restore public trust? CU must earn trust by proactively addressing issues within the system, but must also be a better advocate for its own programs and successes.
