A wild chase through Ft. Collins early this morning ended when a suspect wanted by federal agents rolled his car over into a ditch, seriously injuring himself.
Federal Protection Police stopped a wanted suspect in downtown Ft. Collins at 12:25 a.m., today. The man fled, and the agents gave chase. They quickly were joined by five Larimer County Sheriff’s deputies and three state troopers, according to a state patrol spokesman.
The suspect got away, so officers went to his residence on Vermont Street. A few minutes later, the suspect showed up, saw the officers and fled again. The ten officers took up the chase again, which ended a short while later when the suspect drove into a ditch and rolled his car over at Mulberry Street and Timberline Road.
Troopers said the suspect, Anthony Standard, 23, received serious injuries and was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital where he was admitted. The man has not yet been charged with any crimes, troopers said.
One trooper crashed his cruiser into a guard rail and received minor injuries. He was treated and released.
