REGIONAL NOTES
RED FEATHER LAKES
Residents get local waste option
After two years without a local site for the disposal of trash, Red Feather Lakes-area residents will once again have a waste transfer station nearby.
Larimer County will open the Red Feather Lakes waste transfer station Saturday. A pre-opening celebration is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. today.
The station, on Red Feather Lakes Road, allows residents in rural areas to drop off household trash instead of taking it to the county landfill in Fort Collins. The station will be open the first Saturday of each month from November through April, and every Saturday from May through October. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information, call 970-498-5760.
