The Broncos on Saturday extended the contract of another backup defensive player by working out a deal with linebacker Nate Webster.
Webster, who signed a one-year contract in May, is locked up through the 2008 season. Webster’s base salary this season was raised by about $900,000. On Monday, Denver gave prospective restricted free-agent defensive end Demetrin Veal a two-year extension. Webster has yet to play this season, but the team considers him a viable replacement at all three linebacker spots.
