Woody’s return a coup
Bringing back Woody is the greatest sports coup in The Post history!
Sorry, but your sports pages have been a bit traditional, mundane … maybe even boring since he left. Woody is the main reason I have been a loyal Post reader for 25 years. His return is truly a reason to rejoice. Welcome back, Woody, and thanks, Denver Post, for pulling the strings to make this happen.

Nice to see Woody back
Thank you for bringing Woody back. It’s been too long and I haven’t had a great laugh reading the sports page since he left.

Williams’ play pathetic
I’ve read all the articles about the greatness of Peyton Manning and the key catches by Reggie Wayne. Certainly Peyton is one of the best ever; however, the performance of Darrent Williams on Sunday will go down as one of the worst ever. Am I the only one to notice that all three second-half touchdowns, the two-point conversion and the critical pass to put the Colts in position to kick the game-winning field goal were all caught by Wayne while he was being covered (or not) by a pathetic Williams.
Williams should be traded or cut immediately.

Broncos’ “O” blew game
Most of you sports gurus have it wrong! Everybody expected the defense to win the football game. Hold it! The Broncos were playing Manning and a poor defensive team in the Colts. The defense slowed Manning enough for our running game to beat the Colts. Remember the Colts had only three touchdowns to the Broncos’ four. The Broncos’ offense screwed up three times. 1) Jake Plummer threw two bad passes and a 4-yard running play to start the second half. They should have at least moved the ball 30 yards and put the Colts near the 20-yard line on the punt. They failed and I believe they came out in the second half not ready to play. 2) Plummer fumbled on the 12-yard line and gave Manning and the Colts a gift touchdown. 3) After a 47-yard run by Mike Bell, the Broncos failed by settling for a field goal. Coach
Mike Shanahan should have taken a timeout and talked over strategy. The offense blew the game, not the defense.
