Paul McCartney has reportedly paid $380,000 for his late wife Linda’s “audio diary,” and has revealed that second wife Heather Mills wants a $150 million divorce payoff, according to London’s Mail on Sunday newspaper.

The ex-Beatle was handed an envelope stuffed with audiotapes – which may contain damaging reflections on his first marriage – in a meeting with Peter Cox, who co-authored a vegetarian cookbook with Linda McCartney in the late ’80s.

Cox said last week that Linda, who died of breast cancer in 1998, felt trapped in her marriage and sometimes thought about leaving. Citing a witness to the meeting, the newspaper reported McCartney allegedly called Mills a liar, including her allegations in recent leaked documents that McCartney had a drinking problem “just because I sometimes go to pubs.”

Forget everything you’ve heard about Lindsay Lohan. Really. “She’s a sweetheart,” says actor Joshua Jackson in Liz Smith’s column. “She’s just doing what every 19- or 20-year- old is doing.”

Jackson is one the lesser lights appearing with Lohan in Harvey Weinstein’s upcoming “Bobby.” Others in the film about the late Robert F. Kennedy include Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Heather Graham, Harry Belafonte and Sharon Stone.

Taking a break from shooting a movie about the life of slain journalist Daniel Pearl, Angelina Jolie spent the weekend in New Delhi in another role – as U.N. goodwill ambassador.

With her 5-year-old son Maddox in tow, she toured an Afghan Sikh refugee camp in New Delhi on Saturday.

Jolie is scheduled to return to the western Indian city of Pune to resume shooting this week for the film “A Mighty Heart,” in which she plays Mariane Pearl and Dan Futterman portrays Daniel Pearl.
