NORTHGLENN – Authorities arrested two men in the shooting of a motorist on Interstate 25 last week.

Gregorio Martinez was shot Friday while driving his pickup south on I-25 after leaving a bar at the Radisson Hotel in Thornton, police said.

A passenger in a Black Cadillac Escalade fired several shots from a handgun at Martinez’s red Mazda pickup, striking it several times. One of the rounds went through the driver’s side door, entered Gregorio’s left side and exited his right side.

Martinez survived the shooting.

Investigators identified Gerardo Rivas, 19, as the alleged shooter. He was in a Cadillac Escalade that, police said, was driven by Rolando Ibarra-Santoyo, 21.

They were jailed in Adams County on investigation of attempted first-degree murder, police said.
