Danny DeVito and restaurateur David Manero have teamed up to open a DeVito South Beach in February, the Miami Herald reported. The 10,000-square-foot nightclub should add some appeal to the South of Fifth scene, the Herald claimed. Manero said, “We want to be … the evening destination for sophisticated South Floridians and tourists.”
Brad Pitt joined former President Jimmy Carter to help volunteers from a Christian charity build homes for the poor in western India, the organization said. Pitt, in India with partner Angelina Jolie for a film shoot, dropped by the tourist town of Lonavla recently to help thousands of volunteers from Habitat for Humanity. Since 1984, Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, have spent a week building homes for the organization around the world and promoting its work. Jolie is working in the western Indian city of Pune shooting “A Mighty Heart,” a film about American journalist Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002. Pitt is producing the film while Jolie is playing the role of Pearl’s wife.
Judd Hirsch has purchased an East Side apartment, according to public records. The New York Post reports the “Numb3rs” co-star bought a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment at the Ruppert Yorkville Towers Condominium on upper Third Avenue in New York City for $925,000. A year ago, Hirsch sold a seventh-floor co-op at 700 Park Ave. for $4.13 million. Hirsch still lists his address on Columbus Avenue, so the apartment he purchased could be for a friend or relative, the Post speculated.

Neighbors are mystified by the security. “It must cost a fortune – what’s he afraid of?” one neighbor told the gossip website. West had a dispute with 50 Cent, who once dissed the well-dressed singer for an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
