The Denver Zoo announced today the birth of a new baby lion cub.
The female African lion cub, named Kazi, was born on Oct. 25 to a mother named Natal. She is not yet on exhibit.
The Zoo said, in a press release, that Natal had adopted a lion cub born in November, 2004, by a mother who had abandoned it. But Kazi is Natal’s first baby of her own.
The Zoo said the new baby was born as part of a Species Survival plan.
The baby can be watched via a video monitor in the Interpretive Center of Predator Ridge.
