Artists’ Gallery of Steamboat Springs open house | 1009 Lincoln Ave., Steamboat Springs | 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 24.
More than 20 professional and emerging Colorado artists will unveil their treasures during the all-day event. Because landscapes and life in the Yampa River Valley have long been a source of inspiration for resident and visiting painters and potters, woodworkers and weavers, photographers and jewelers, the new gallery will cater to a wide variety of traditional and eclectic tastes, interests and budgets.
Lights and music
Annual Train Lighting ceremony and “Sound ideas from the Pacific Rim With Michael Stanwood”| The lighting ceremony begins at 5:15 p.m. at the county courthouse, San Juan and Fourth Streets; free concert at Milagros Coffeehouse, State Avenue and Main Street in Alamosa at 7 p.m. Friday | 719-480-9162
The courthouse, city hall and Alamosa’s historic steam Engine 169 will be lit, and stores will be open late. Stanwood has traveled around the world as a performer for the United States State Department. Audience members may have the chance to play Thai khaens or Australian didgeridoos.
