Arizona beat Colorado 7-2 on Tuesday night in a Central Hockey League game, dealing the Eagles their first road loss of the season.

The Eagles’ defense could not keep up with the Sundogs’ offense, as they allowed five power-play goals and seven goals overall on only 27 shots.

Greg Pankewicz scored his league-leading 15th goal and Riley Nelson added another, as Colorado tied a franchise high for the worst loss.

The Rocky Mountain Rage remained undefeated at home after defeating Wichita 5-2.

Nick Warriner scored two goals and Mark Wires had three assists to lead the Rage. Goalie David Guerrera made 31 saves to earn his second win of the season.

Former QB donates $1 million to Wyoming

The family of David S. Cronk, a former quarterback at the University of Wyoming, has donated $1 million to the school’s Athletics Facilities Campaign. The donation will be matched by the state, making it a $2 million gift.

University athletic director Tom Burman said the money will be used toward construction of an indoor practice facility, which is underway, and renovations to War Memorial Stadium.

Cronk resides in Englewood and played quarterback for the Cowboys in 1960 and 1961.
