WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard has requested a 45-day extension of the public-comment period for residents near the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site on the draft environmental impact statement.
The public-comment period is scheduled to end Nov. 27, but three days later a new report analyzing potential expansion issues of the site is to be released.
Allard said in a letter Thursday to Secretary of the Army Francis J. Harvey that residents should have the opportunity to digest any new information in the expansion report before the public-comment period closes.
