Denver Rescue Mission, 1130 Park Ave. West, will sort and inventory donated turkeys Nov. 17, 18, 21, 22 and 23. Frozen turkeys can be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at The Denver Rescue Mission Lawrence Street, 1130 Park Ave. West; from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Ministry Outreach Center, 3501 E. 46th Ave.; and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at The Crossing, 8090 Smith Road.

Saturday

Volunteers from Holme, Roberts and Owen law firm and community volunteers will assemble over 1,000 Thanksgiving baskets for low-income families. The families have already received vouchers and will pick up their baskets and a gift card for a 15-lb. Turkey from Safeway. Assembly begins at 9 a.m. at Volunteers of America Mission, 2877 Lawrence St. For information, call 720-264-3323.

Epworth Foundation, Family to Family Services, and other religious and community organizations in Northeast Denver will provide Thanksgiving food baskets to needy families in the Denver area through the Community-Wide Thanksgiving Dinner Basket program. Baskets will be ready for pickup at the church, 3401 High St., on Saturday, Nov. 18, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. For information or to volunteer, visit www.epworthumcdenver.org or call 303-296-6287. St. Louis Catholic School is having a free Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens in the Englewood area, at 4 p.m. in the cafeteria, 3100 S. Sherman St.

Nov. 22

Boulder Police Department is sponsoring a turkey dinner for the homeless at the Carriage House Homeless Resource Center, 1120.5 Pine St., Boulder, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information or to volunteer, call 303-442-8300.

The Salvation Army Denver Red Shield, 2915 High St., is hosting the Thanksgiving Girls Basketball Classic Nov. 22, 24, 25 and 26. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to noon. For information, call George Lopez at 303-295-2107.
