Coloradans don’t need anyone to tell us that the powder here is
primo: All we have to do is walk out the back door. But elsewhere,
folks insist on rating and reviewing our resorts, and what can we
do but go ahead and accept the results?
Our slopes are indeed something special, and our ski areas are
sublime. The snow piles up like so much white cotton candy, and
almost every day is sunny. World-class restaurants, internationally
inspired shopping, luxurious accommodations and cultural activities
round out the superior experience that awaits the thousands of
alpine and cross-country skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers,
telemarkers and other winter sports enthusiasts who head for our
snow-packed hills.
This year, the Ski Guide places special emphasis on Vail, which
continues to receive kudos for being a resort that offers something
for everyone and for its ongoing commitment to improvements. Inside
you’ll also get ski lessons from a couple of pros at Vail and
Copper, and you’ll find comprehensive listings for all of the
resorts, with mountain statistics, contact information and lift
ticket prices.
Here’s to a long, prosperous, snowpacked season for all.
