A driver was killed early Sunday when his truck rolled after striking a traffic post on River Road in Mesa County.
Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The crash happened at 4 a.m. just west of the 20 Road overpass.
The 2003 Toyota Tacoma was eastbound on River Road and ran off the left side before the driver struck the post, the State Patrol said.
The truck came back on the road and began rolling southbound across all lanes of traffic. The truck then ran off the right side of the road and rolled three times before the truck came to a rest, authorities said.
The driver was thrown out of the truck during the rollover sequence and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Mesa County coroner.
The driver’s name was unavailable.
