If you can’t go around the mountain, be like Rick Charbonneau – who snapped this picture – go through it. Can you tell us the location of these rough-hewn openings and why they were built? Drop us an e-mail with the answers to ColoradoSunday@denverpost.com. Please include a digital photo of yourself and your full address in the message. Our favorite correct answer wins a $50 gas card.

Last week: Colt sculpture at Durango train depot
Winner: Christina Gesi, Sedalia
Three feisty boys on three feisty colts. We took this picture of our sons with these beautiful bronze sculptures at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot in Durango. We enjoyed a delightful train ride halfway to Silverton to a ranger station and met Smokey Bear. A wonderful educational excursion for families with children who love the great outdoors and Colorado’s beautiful scenery.
