A 24-year-old Castle Rock man accidentally killed himself while playing with a revolver at his kitchen table, police said.
Kyle David Erbacher, 24, was sitting at the table playing with a single-shot revolver when the gun went off and hit him in the chest late Wednesday night, said police spokeswoman Kim Castellano.
Erbacher was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Castellano said there were a number of witnesses to the shooting, and police are treating it as an accidental shooting. They have not determined yet if drugs or alcohol were involved.
The shooting occurred in the 7300 block of Village Square Drive in Castle Rock.
