A very cold Arctic storm is headed into Colorado tonight and Tuesday, bringing cold temperatures throughout the state and heavy snow in the mountains.
Denver will experience the worst cold of the season, with temperatures reaching only into the 20s on Tuesday and the teens on Wednesday. Overnight temperatures could dip down to single-digit readings.
Ski areas should receive some much-needed snow, with 1-2 feet expected in the central mountains and slightly more in the southwestern mountains.
Heavy winds will whip up Tuesday in the mountains, causing blizzard conditions. A storm warning is in effect from Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning.
