Site of the week: It takes a huge ego to be a bigtime blogger these days. Thousands of Web hits a day aren’t enough. Now they want to be seen. Everybody needs to be a TV star. Some of the most erudite – and self-absorbed – bloggers in American letters are trying an experiment at bloggingheads.tv, where they use computer-mounted cams to record debates or conversations on various topics, from global warming to the media’s treatment of Israel. Bloggers like Robert Wright, Joel Achenbach, Mickey Kaus and others are the little-known stars.

Watch this Web video: Bound to make millions soon by producing beer commercials and low-budget Hollywood comedies, the boys from “don’tbethatguy” have a number of funny shorts posted at YouTube. Their latest is “things you can’t do when you’re not in a pool,” at you tubecom/watch?v=Gw4bQKi LkQ4. One of their best creations is the don’t-be-that-guy with the cellphone edition, sending up the obnoxious habits of public cellphone losers.

Patrick Meese talks with Post pop music critic Ricardo Baca about playing to a sold-out Red Rocks crowd and his group’s evolution in this week’s Local Scene podcast – a companion to a feature on the band that runs in Friday’s 7Days section.
