Frontier Airlines will begin flying from Denver to Hartford, Conn. in March, the carrier announced today.

Starting March 2, 2007, Frontier will operate one daily nonstop flight from Denver to Bradley International Airport in Hartford. The flights will be on Frontier’s Airbus A319 jets, which seat 132 passengers. Introductory fares, which come with limitations, will start at $99 one way for bookings by Jan. 10, not including fees.

It will be the only nonstop flight between Denver and Hartford, and was the second largest unserved market from Denver, according to Frontier.

The new route will also mark Frontier’s return to New England after discontinuing service to Boston in 2002. According to Frontier’s senior vice president of marketing and planning John Happ, the carrier gets more requests from passengers to serve New England than any other area in the U.S.

Along with the route launch, which comes before spring break, Frontier also announced a two-for-one lift ticket deal at Winter Park and Copper Mountain for passengers who fly the Hartford route between March 2 and April 15. Those passengers can exchange their Frontier boarding pass receipt for the two-for-one discount at either of the two ski resorts.
