The Historic Royal Gorge Route Railroad’s “Santa Express Train,” featuring a ride with Santa Claus, will run Saturday and Dec. 10, then daily Dec. 16-24 on all 12:30 p.m. departures in the observation dome and coach service. Children ages 3-12 pay half price riding in coach or the glass- topped Vista Domes; children under 3 ride free when seated on a lap. Classic holiday stories will be read on the train and in the depot. The train operates every weekend at 12:30 p.m. and gourmet dinner trains run at 6 p.m. every Saturday. From Dec. 16-31, the train will run daily at 12:30 p.m., along with dinner trains each Saturday evening. The train departs from the historic Santa Fe Depot off Third Street in Cañon City.
