George Foster felt “excluded” the past few weeks. Sunday, he’ll likely be a part of things again.
Adam Meadows, who replaced Foster at right tackle Nov. 12 at Oakland, didn’t practice Friday and likely will not play against visiting Seattle on Sunday at Invesco Field at Mile High.
Meadows is listed as questionable, but the fact that he didn’t practice Friday is not a good sign. He was injured in the first quarter at Kansas City on Nov. 23 and did not return.
Foster took his place and will likely start against Seattle.
“I’m just looking forward to the chance to play again,” Foster said. “I felt excluded when I wasn’t playing. I play football. I want to play. So, I want to do my part and play again.”
Meadows replaced Foster because the coaching staff thought Foster wasn’t improving and was lacking fire.
Houston interested?
Broncos director of football administration Mike Bluem has been mentioned as a potential candidate to fill a similar role in Houston. The Texans need a salary-cap manager in the wake of the resignation of Dan Ferens. The Texans are expected to fill the spot soon.
Texans general manager Rick Smith, who left Denver in June, is making the hire. Bluem is a Texas native and highly regarded by the Broncos. It’s a longshot that he leaves Denver. Also being mentioned for the Houston job are two people with Denver ties, Minnesota’s Dave Blando and San Francisco’s Terry Tumey.
Hot times
Mike Bell made a rookie move – he didn’t ask for any points. As a result, he has to wear an Arizona State hat around the Broncos’ locker room the rest of the season.
“It’s a killer,” the running back said. “It’s like hot coals on my head.”
Bell, who went to Arizona, bet backup quarterback Jake Plummer – an Arizona State alum – that his Wildcats would win the rivalry game Nov. 25. The Sun Devils won 28-14.
