Kendall Mountain Recreation Area, Silverton 12:30 p.m. Dec. 10
The ancient tradition of the Yule Log will be celebrated as children scramble up a hill to find the decorated log and other hidden goodies. The young one who finds the log gets to ride down the hill on it and help light the ceremonial bonfire that follows at the Community Center. A caroling parade and a dessert potluck with hot apple cider and cocoa round out the afternoon.
TIME-TRIP CUTUPS
Tim Conway and Harvey Korman Farewell Tour
Colorado Convention Center Lecture Hall
7:30 p.m. Saturday
Back in the days before cable, a highlight of the TV week was watching “The Carol Burnett Show” with the family and laughing ourselves sick at Conway and Korman. It was the rare moment of 1970s parent-teen agreement, and now you can relive it. Start a pool about how long it will take Conway to get Korman to crack up in the middle of a sketch. And let the kids know how lucky they are to escape standing next to the tube holding the rabbit ears. Tickets $39.50-$59.50, available at hob.com or 303-830-TIXS.

Keystone’s marketing wizards chose chocolate to commemorate the resort’s 36th anniversary. During the 36 Days of Chocolate, guests will find the ingredient in everything from pancakes to facials. On Dec. 15, Keystone Lodge chef Ned Archibald will unveil his annual chocolate village. It takes Archibald and his crew 10 months to plan and execute the 5.8 million-calorie masterpiece, whose details include a working chocolate gondola, a chocolate waterfall, mountain peaks and a 6-foot white chocolate Christmas tree with hand-blown sugar ornaments. It stays on display at the lodge until Jan. 2.
