Tom Cruise may have spent too much time worrying about fiancée Katie Holmes’ figure for their lavish Italian wedding. Janetcharltonshollywood.com reports Cruise had to wear a girdle to fit into his tuxedo. Cruise – a “nervous eater” as a source described the actor – gained 20 pounds before the big day. Designer Giorgio Armani was at his wits’ end when Cruise’s tux proved too small. According to the gossip website, Armani personally tended to the fittings, letting out Cruise’s pants and then suggesting girdling Cruise’s midsection. The corset was sewn into Cruise’s undergarment.

The always trim Jerry Hall told the New York Post’s Cindy Adams her secret to keeping fit. “I hate smelly, dirty gyms. I’d rather vacuum, make beds, bend down to clean the oven,” the former Mrs. Mick Jagger said.

Ben Affleck said it took four months of just eating chicken – boring skinless chicken with no oil – and half a baked potato and broccoli to finally lose all that weight he gained for the film “Hollywoodland.” Quoted by contactmusic.com, Affleck said he stayed on the same diet “until you want to shoot yourself in the head, basically.” Affleck got great reviews in his role as George Reeves, the TV “Superman” actor who died mysteriously at 45.

Ashley Judd said she had one reason why she overcame depression and an eating disorder – her husband, race-car driver Dario Franchitti. Judd spent 47 days in the Shades Of Hope Treatment Centre in Texas in February. “I have so many more tools now. My self-care is really good,” Judd was quoted by starpulse.com. “(Franchitti) is so supportive in just the right way. Pitch-perfect.”
