Who: Sarah Mote of Englewood
Where: Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Shanghai. A group of college students traveled to China for five weeks with the purpose of teaching an English summer camp in Zheng Zhou.
Best meal: Definitely the Chinese dumplings, or Jiaozi. Served almost anywhere.
Best deal: Everything is fairly inexpensive in China, but you must be willing to bargain with a little attitude.
Best time to go: The climate varies depending on the region, but the overall best time to visit is in autumn (September-October) or spring. During these times the temperature is mild, and there isn’t much rain.
Best travel tip: Get immersed in the culture a little. The people of China are amazing and incredibly generous. Also, cut down as much as you can on the tour groups. Taking your time and enjoying the culture is really the best experience.
