Courtney Love claims Prince Andrew once showed up at her Hollywood home to “look for chicks.” Love, promoting her book, “Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love,” said on a British TV show: “Prince Andrew turns up at my house at 1 in the morning and he wants to party. He’d come to Hollywood to look for chicks. I don’t know what he expected at my house.” (Insert your own joke here.) A spokesman admitted Prince Andrew visited Love’s house on the night in question six years ago, but that it was “absolute nonsense” he went there looking for girls.
Jessica Simpson botched her performance of the song “9 to 5” as part of a tribute to Dolly Parton during the 29th Annual Kennedy Center Honors. E! Online’s Marc Malkin reported Simpson flubbed a lyric and seemed on the verge of tears. When she was done, Simpson blurted out: “Dolly, you make me so nervous, I can’t even sing the words right.” Star magazine wrote Simpson was awkwardly grasping her strapless gown and a microphone during the song, causing her flub. A rep said Simpson re-taped her performance after the show ended, and that song will air on CBS on Dec. 26.
Lane Garrison, the “Prison Break” actor who crashed his SUV Saturday night killing a teenage male passenger and injuring two girls, grew up in the same town as Simpson. Several websites reported Garrison was mentored by Simpson’s minister father, Joe, in Richardson, Texas. Janetcharltonshollywood.com reports the girls, both 15, saw Garrison at a Ralph’s grocery store and persuaded him to come to their high school party. The teens were not identified.
The New York Post reports a Los Angeles Department of Children & Family Services official has been trying to contact Britney Spears to set up a meeting so they can check on Spears’ two sons. Spears’ recent odd behavior, including Internet pics of her sans panties, are worrying her family, and perhaps child services. Her mother, Lynne, “is very disturbed” over her daughter, who has been seen hanging around with Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Brandon Davis.
Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn are no longer a couple, reps for the two actors confirmed to People magazine. Aniston and Vaughn met while filming “The Break-Up” in 2005.
Eddie Murphy is a busy man. While promoting his film, “Dreamgirls,” Murphy was asked by a Dutch TV reporter if he was happy with his pregnant girlfriend Melanie Brown, a former Spice Girl. “You’re being presumptuous, because we’re not together anymore and I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test,” Murphy said on “RTL Boulevard.” Plus, Murphy has been spotted on the town with film producer Tracey Edmunds, 39, the former wife of record producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmunds. Tracey Edmunds confirmed to People magazine she and Murphy have been dating “for about a month and a half.”
Mary Cheney, pictured at left, the openly gay daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney, is pregnant and due next spring, the Washington Post reported. The baby will be the first for Cheney and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe. We hope the veep doesn’t ask for a shotgun wedding.
The Beyoncé Knowles-Jay-Z wedding rumors are on again. The New York Post reports the superstar couple will marry in the Caribbean next week. The Post claimed the couple were overheard at New York’s STK restaurant Saturday discussing a special “four-day” celebration on a yacht in St. Barts. A source said, “Beyoncé is throwing Jay a four-day birthday party, but it’s really a wedding.”
