Fullerton, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton’s Toni Thomas led all scorers with 27 points in an 89-77 victory over Colorado at Titan Gym on Thursday. Fullerton (3-6) won for the first time in five chances against Colorado (5-4). Jackie McFarland and Jasmina Ilic scored 20 points apiece to pace the Buffaloes.
Denver (3-4) shot just 26.2 percent from the field in a 75-52 loss to host Portland (6-4). Tyesha Lowery and Brianna Culberson scored 11 points apiece for the Pioneers.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee (4-6) jumped to a 7-0 lead and never led by less than five points in a 65-53 win over Air Force (3-5). Letricia Castillo led the Falcons with 18 points.
Western State (3-4, 1-0) got 27 points from Stephanie Warnke and trounced visiting Colorado Mines (0-6, 0-1) 78-55.
In a men’s game, Carleton Goggins scored 18 points to lead Western State (4-2, 1-0) over Colorado Mines (3-3, 0-1).
