Flo Hernandez-Ramos, one of the founders of Denver’s KUVO 89.3-FM, Tuesday resigned as the jazz station’s president and general manager.

The station’s 11-member board has begun a search for a replacement for Hernandez-Ramos, who helped launch KUVO in 1983. She will stay at the station until March to help with the transition, a spokesman said. Program director Carlos Lando is interim manager.

KUVO, featuring jazz, Latin jazz and blues, was named the nation’s top jazz station by Jazz Week magazine the past two years.
