Getting your player ready...

CSU football coach Sonny Lubick confirmed Tuesday he’s coming back for a 15th season, not that he was ever going to retire. He just never spelled it out in so many words.

“I’m coming back. I’m honoring my contract,” Lubick said, adding that he is not looking at any staff changes at this time.

He is buoyed by a recruiting class that continued to grow this week, although he can’t comment – like every other coach in the country – until signing day in February.

CSU added three more commitments to its list, along with junior college transfer John Clark, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker from Fresno City (Calif.). He enrolled for the spring semester and will be available for spring ball.

The Rams had a commitment from another quarterback, T.J. Borcky of Orlando (Fla.) Lake Highland Prep, according to rivals.com. A day earlier CSU received a commitment from Fort Collins quarterback Matt Yemm. Earlier, Regis QB Klay Kubiak committed to CSU.

CSU also received an oral commitment from center Tyler McDermott (6-2, 270) of Palm Beach Central High School, according to the recruiting services. McDermott was rated 92nd in the state of Florida by rivals.com and received a three-star designation on scout.com.

CSU’s recent commitments come off last weekend’s recruiting trips. The Rams won’t have another group of prospects in until January.

Also, linebacker/running back Brian Hendricks of Burlington has picked Wyoming over CSU.

Buffs add one

Colorado’s nearly full class continued to grow with the addition of 6-4, 281-pound defensive tackle Eugene Goree of Murfreesboro, Tenn., according to rivals.com. CU has the No. 12-ranked class on rivals.com and No. 13th-ranked group on scout.com. The Buffs had a handful of recruits in last weekend, the second major recruiting weekend.
