Waterway Gas & Wash and Mothers Against Drunk Driving are working together for the ninth annual Tie One On for Safety event. Volunteers will tie symbolic red ribbons on washed cars at the Cherry Creek Waterway location in Denver from noon to 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
In the last phase of the Brand Morocco competition, Johnson & Wales University’s
information-technology business plan took second place.
The competition was held in San Diego on Dec. 15 and was sponsored by the kingdom of Morocco and its United States marketing organization to help Morocco in its branding effort.
Lightning Labels announced that it has contracted for a new WS4500 label press from Hewlett Packard. It will be installed at Lightning Labels in January and will be the first of its kind in the Rocky Mountain Region.
The Allstate Foundation presented a $50,000 check to the Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence and SafeHouse Denver. The grant will be used to expand the Entrepreneurial Training Program curriculum offered by SafeHouse Denver, in partnership with the University of Colorado at Denver’s School of Business.

The Robert H. and Beverly A. Deming Center for Entrepreneurship has won the 2006 Award for Excellence in Specialty Entrepreneurship Education from the National Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers.
The center was cited for its Sustainable Venturing Initiative, which advances programs that educate students, support innovators, acknowledge cutting-edge research and showcase emerging opportunities in the clean-technology and renewable-energy sectors.
