The University of Colorado football team Wednesday signed two junior college transfers and an early high school graduate to its roster for the 2007 season.

Drew Hudgins, a defensive end from Highland (Kan.) Community College; Nick Nelson, a quarterback from Saddleback (Calif.) College; and Josh Hartigan, a linebacker from Northeast High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., agreed to play for the team. Joining the three will be Jonathan Hawkins, a cornerback who signed with CU last February but delayed his enrollment until January.

MWC TV network expands reach

With two weeks to spare before the start of league basketball play, the Mountain West Conference’s network, The Mtn., will be available to Cox cable subscribers in San Diego and Las Vegas.

San Diego State and UNLV fans had been shut out during the football season. The Mtn. and co-parent CSTV will begin airing Friday. Negotiations continue to get the network on satellite providers and cable in Fort Worth, Texas, the only remaining league city without coverage.
