As a snowstorm blew into Denver, sports organizations across the metro area postponed events as the weather worsened.
Tonight’s Rocky Mountain Rage game against Lubbock at the Broomfield Event Center was postponed until Feb. 28.
Also, tonight’s University of Denver men’s basketball game against Arkansas State has been pushed back to a date yet to be determined. The DU women’s game Wednesday night against Wyoming also was delayed.
Colorado State’s women’s basketball team made one of the last departures from Denver International Airport for their game tonight at No. 6 Connecticut. Hopes for the CSU men’s team getting to Boise State for a Friday night game faded during the day. CSU will try to arrange for a charter Friday. If the team can’t get out, a postponement or cancellation is likely.
Administrators explored the prospect of going by bus, but there were no drivers available on short notice. The Rams originally were scheduled to leave this morning on a commercial flight.
