The NFL is assisting the Broncos in the aftermath of the death of starting right cornerback Darrent Williams.
“It is a terrible tragedy. We don’t know all the details yet, but we have reached out to the Broncos to offer our support,” NFL vice president of public relations Greg Aiello said.
Aiello said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was in contact with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen to talk about what the league could do. Aiello also said NFL vice president of security Milt Ahlerich was in contact with the Broncos’ security department and is monitoring the investigation from a law enforcement standpoint.
