The Greeley-Cache La Poudre chapter of Pheasants Forever, based in Weld County, will be the 19th chapter of the national conservation group in Colorado.

The organization places major emphasis on habitat restoration. Brett Datteri will be chapter president, David Case treasurer and Stu McFarland habitat chairman. A 6:30 p.m. meeting Jan. 23 is scheduled at the Rabo AgriFinance Building, 1919 65th Ave., Suite 1, Greeley. For information, 970-630-3888.

Fishing guide update

A revised edition of the “Central Colorado Fishing Guide” will make its debut at The Fly Fishing Show, which runs Friday through Sunday at the Denver Merchandise Mart. The 54-page guide contains new fly pattern information and an updated hatch chart, along with other fresh information. It will be available at the ArkAnglers booth at the show or by phoning 719-539-3474.

Teacher honored

Debra Cook-Jennings of Littleton is among two people to receive Safari Club International’s “Educator of the Year Award” for 2007. A teacher in Littleton Public Schools for 29 years, she will join Robert Easterbrook Sr. of Madison Heights, Mich., in receiving awards at SCI’s Jan. 24-27 convention in Reno, Nev.
