DENVER – Denver-based StarTek, which provides call-center and other business services, on Friday appointed A. Laurence Jones president and chief executive, effective immediately.

Jones, 53, has been on the company’s board of directors since July. He succeeds Steven Butler, StarTek’s CEO since February 2005.

StarTek shares fell 91 cents, or 6.5 percent, Friday on the New York Stock Exchange.

American Gaming plans new casino

Las Vegas-based American Gaming Group has announced plans to open a casino in Cripple Creek that will feature 700 slot machines and 10 table games. The casino is expected to open in late 2007.
