Tyler Ruegsegger, a University of Denver freshman forward from Lakewood, is the Western Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the week after he scored three goals – including both game-winners – in the Pioneers’ two- game sweep of Niagara at Magness Arena last week. Ruegsegger has 11 goals and 13 assists in 26 games this season.
Eagles trade for CHL veteran
The Colorado Eagles acquired Central Hockey League forward Brent Hughes in a Tuesday trade with the Amarillo Gorillas. Hughes, a CHL player his entire professional career, had 35 goals and 61 assists in three seasons with the Gorillas. The deal gives Amarillo future considerations.
