Works feature seed beads, needlework on canvas, quilting, machine and hand embroidery and collage. Many of the pieces are small – 30 inches or less because of the intensive labor needed to create them – and most are for sale.
Sixties podcast
A look at a decade in the fictional suburb of Empire | Through Feb. 11 at Aurora History Museum, 15051 E. Alameda Parkway; 303-739-6660; auroragov.org
The Aurora History Museum’s annual look at a suburban decade continues with the 1960s in all their Space Food Stick-eating, Beatle boots-wearing, Eames chair-reclining glory. Conor and Ed, hosts of KVCU AM 1190’s Under the Mattress radio, put together a Sixties Rock Primer podcast to go with it, running the gamut of sounds from Dick Dale to the Velvet Underground. Download it by visiting the city of Aurora home page and clicking “Things To Do.” Brace yourself: It’ll be the Seventies next year.
