Real-estate teams cited

Two Colorado real-estate teams were among Real Estate magazine’s 25 Power Teams to watch in the coming year.

The 12-member Jace Glick Sells Team of Re/Max Alliance in Parker is fueled by understanding the importance of team and sharing and ensuring quality of life for its members, according to the magazine.

Mark Williams’ Gold Medal Team of Re/Max Properties Inc. in Colorado Springs matches junior and senior agents for mentoring to ensure that each of its 15 members is proficient in every aspect of being a Realtor.

Return to basics, Realtors told

At RISMedia’s 11th Annual Power Broker Forum in New Orleans, Re/Max chairman Dave Liniger told a gathering of 1,000 real-estate professionals that people in the industry have developed poor habits.

“We have to be more proficient than ever before and get back to the basics,” he said. “We should turn down a listing today if it isn’t priced right rather than let the client down 90 days from now. If you walk away from a listing that’s overpriced, that’s powerful.”

Apartment market improves

Denver’s apartment market looks good for owners and investors, according to Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Brokerage Co.’s 2007 National Apartment Report.

Denver moved up two spots to No. 23 in the firm’s National Apartment Index, a snapshot analysis that ranks 42 apartment markets based on a series of supply-and-demand indicators.

Vacancies are expected to drop to 7.5 percent by the end of the year. Asking rents are forecast to increase 2.6 percent to $880 a month.

Developers delivered 2,300 units last year and are on track to complete 1,300 more in 2007.

The languages of home info

No habla ingles? No problema. In an effort to provide homebuyers and sellers with information they need in a language they can read, the American Society of Home Inspectors has translated its Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics and general consumer brochure into Spanish. In addition, the enhanced Find an Inspector tool at www.ashi.org now includes search criteria for languages including Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, German and French.
