Fort Collins – Wyoming got a game-deciding effort from its reserves and dominated Colorado State in overtime as the Cowgirls topped the Rams 78-66 at Moby Arena on Thursday.

Wyoming (13-5, 4-2 Mountain West Conference) overcame a three-point halftime deficit, then outscored CSU (6-13, 1-6) 16-4 in overtime.

Hanna Zavecz scored a game-high 23 points to pace Wyoming and the Cowgirls’ bench had a 16-4 advantage over CSU’s reserves.

Marilyn Moulton’s 17 points led four Rams in double-figures. Sara Moulton added 16 points and nine rebounds.

DENVER 65, TROY 62

at Troy, Ala.: Brooke Meyer and Jenna Cole hit back-to-back 3-pointers in overtime to lead Denver (12-7, 7-3 Sun Belt) over host Troy (10-10, 3-7).

UNLV 63, AIR FORCE 55

at the Air Force Academy: Pamela Findlay scored 28 points for Air Force, but none of her teammates could muster more than six points as the Falcons (4-14, 0-7 MWC) fell to UNLV (9-9, 3-3) at Clune Arena.

MONTANA STATE 68, NORTHERN COLORADO 47

at Bozeman, Mont.: Rebecca Mercer scored a game-high 15 points as Montana State (8-10, 3-4) cruised by Northern Colorado (4-15, 1-6) in a Big Sky Conference game at Worthington Arena. Melanie Drangmeister and Whitley Cox led the Bears with 11 points apiece.

Men

Nick Dissly and Casey Durham each scored 15 points and a potential tying 3-pointer was off the mark as Montana State held on to beat Northern Colorado 58-57 in Greeley.

Montana State (7-13, 4-3 Big Sky Conference) rallied from 14 points down in the second half to win its third game. Carlos Taylor added 11 points for the Bobcats.

Thanasi Panagiotakopoulos led Northern Colorado (3-18, 1-8) with 11 points, while Cory Lowe had nine points. Northern Colorado lost its fourth straight game.

Dissly’s rebound basket put the Bobcats ahead 54-52 and his two free throws made it a 56-53 game with 1:36 left.

Sean Taibi’s potentially tying 3-pointer was tipped in after the buzzer by Chris Kaba.
