High school sport: Swimming (freestyler, has top Class 4A time over 50 yards; qualified for state in all events; member of defending Colorado champion medley relay).

Grade-point average: 3.6.

Class: Junior.

My favorite subject: Math. I’ve always liked dealing with numbers.

My favorite athlete: Michael Phelps. He’s just an amazing swimmer and fun to watch, and he makes it easy for me to follow.

My favorite team: No favorite team, but I like watching football.

What I listen to: A complete mixture of every type of music.

The best thing on my training table: Lots of breakfast stuff and meat.

Premeet ritual: I just go swim and have as much fun as I can.

Time management tip: I try to keep a routine, give myself a couple extra minutes every day to make sure I have everything done.

Planned career: Considering education or accounting; would like to stay kind of close to home and be on a college swimming team.

My family: Parents Sam Hewson and Suzanne Jurgens; sisters Lauren (my twin) and Kate Hewson; stepbrothers Hunter and Trapper Sutterfield.

What I like most about high school sports: I like the competitiveness. It’s high energy and you get to be with friends
