Pueblo police are investigating the death of a 53-year-old woman who died Sunday after a rollover accident on Interstate 25 in Pueblo.
Police believe the woman was shot while driving. An autopsy found that she had a single gunshot wound. Sgt. Jim Ruggieri said the accident was so bad that police did not initially see the gunshot wound.
Police said it is being investigated as a suspicious death.
Her name was not released.
The woman was driving a blue 1998 Ford Ranger truck northbound on Interstate 25 about 8 a.m.
She exited the interstate and the truck collided with the west-side guardrail, police said.
At the top of the exit ramp, the truck continued northbound and crossed both the east and west traffic lanes of the U.S. 50 bypass.
The truck then jumped the curb and rolled down the embankment, coming to rest on its tires.
