Metro State, ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II men’s basketball, fueled a 96-58 rout of Chadron (Neb.) State with a 30-0 run Saturday night at the Auraria Events Center.

The Roadrunners took a 62-20 lead into the second half and easily improved to 19-2 and 12-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They routed No. 21 Nebraska-Kearney 92-75 on Friday in Denver.

Sophomore forward Jesse Wagstaff’s 16 points led five Metro State scorers in double figures against Chadron State (5-15, 3-10). Senior forward Michael Bahl added 15 points for the Roadrunners, who have a 12-game winning streak.

Chadron State went scoreless for almost nine minutes of the first half, when Metro State extended an 11-8 lead to 41-8. The Roadrunners shot 65.7 percent in the first half.

Sophomore guard Marquise Carrington finished with 11 assists, 10 points and six steals for Metro State. Nineteen of the Eagles’ 26 turnovers were steals by the Roadrunners.

NEB.-KEARNEY 84, COLO. CHR. 67 at Lakewood: Dusty Jura scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading the Lopers (16-4, 11-2 RMAC) over the host Cougars (6-13, 4-9).

Nebraska-Kearney had a 15-4 run to begin the second half. Brian Stamer led Colorado Christian with 19 points.

COLORADO MINES 71, REGIS 49 at Golden: The Orediggers got 22 points from Kyle Pape and earned their fourth win in five games, routing visiting Regis at Volk Gym.

Regis (7-13, 2-11 RMAC) had a 10-0 lead four minutes into the game. But Mines (12-9, 6-7) finished the half with a 19-3 run for a 33-20 lead. Brandon Butler led the Rangers with 17 points.

FORT LEWIS 89, CSU-PUEBLO 79 at Durango: Tim Bieri scored 18 points and the Skyhawks (17-5, 9-4 RMAC) handed the ThunderWolves (11-10, 7-6) their third loss in four games with a victory at Whalen Gymnasium.

ADAMS ST. 79, MESA ST. 75 (OT) at Grand Junction: Roman Moniak’s game-high 26 points paced the Grizzlies (9-11, 8-5 RMAC) over the Mavericks (13-7, 9-4) at Brownson Arena.

N.M. HIGHLANDS 71, WESTERN ST. 63 at Gunnison: Stephen Shanks made a key steal with 33 seconds left and the Cowboys (4-17, 4-9 RMAC) held on against the Mountaineers (9-12, 4-9).

Nate Brodman scored 44 points and set a Colorado College record with 11 3-pointers, helping the Tigers defeat visiting Johnson & Wales 104-93.

Brodman’s 44 points rank third on CC’s all-time scoring list.

WOMEN

The No. 23-ranked Regis Rangers closed the game with a 14-5 run and overcame a career-high 30 points from Colorado Mines’ Iva Tomova for a 54-45 victory at Volk Gym in Golden.

Regis (17-4, 12-1 RMAC) was led by Breanne Burley’s 15 points. Diana Lopez added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Orediggers (12-9, 9-4) tied the game 40-40 with 5:31 to play but didn’t gain the lead.

METRO ST. 88, CHADRON ST. 54: Metro State, ranked No. 22, outscored Chadron State 42-6 in the paint and had five players in double figures to help earn an easy RMAC victory at the Auraria Events Center.

Cassondra Bratton’s 13 points paced Metro State (16-5, 9-4). Danielle Ellerington, Rae Bean and Megan Sinclair each contributed 12 points.

The Roadrunners have seven wins in their past nine games.

CSU-PUEBLO 71, FORT LEWIS 63 at Durango: CSU-Pueblo (12-7, 10-3) held on to its RMAC West Division lead by defeating host Fort Lewis (10-10, 7-6) behind a game-high 20 points from Lindsay Black.

COLO. CHR. 80, NEB.-KEARNEY 72 at Lakewood: Talmai Aguirre scored a game-high 22 points as Colorado Christian (7-14, 3-10 RMAC) upset visiting Nebraska-Kearney (14-6, 9-4).

Ainsley Barratt added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars.
